High Tide’s story began in Calgary, Alberta in 2009, as an independent smoke shop chain catering to cannabis enthusiasts across western Canada. Today, the business includes two operating segments – retail and wholesale – and continues to grow around the world.

At the end of 2018, Grasscity.com has been acquired by High Tide Inc from Canada. High Tide Inc. operates as a vertically-integrated company in the cannabis market in Canada. It engages in the design, manufacture, and distribution of cannabis accessories and alternative lifestyle products worldwide. The company operates 9 corporate and 10 franchised smoking accessories retail outlets in Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. It is also involved in the retailing of cannabis products. This acquisition strengthens Grasscity’s position in the global e-commerce market for smoking accessories. Grasscity now can operate from several warehouses in North America and Europe and reach its customers globally with fast shipping times. With over 1 million parcels shipped during our existence, Grasscity has a loyal following of customers who love the Grasscity brand, our quality of service and our product selection.

High Tide’s premier Canadian retail cannabis brand, Canna Cabana, currently spans over 34 locations in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan, with additional locations under development across Canada. High Tide has been serving cannabis consumers for over a decade through its numerous lifestyle accessory enterprises including eCommerce platforms Grasscity.com and CBDcity.com, lifestyle and licensed entertainment brand manufacturer Famous Brandz, and its wholesale distribution divisions RGR Canada Inc. and Valiant Distribution.
